Hey guys, I am new to the board, new to the lingo and everything. Does anyone have advice, knowledge, etc? Share the wealth. I have a consultation in Nov. with Dr. Larson in L'ville, any input? I have a packet of information to fill out, how far back do I have to go with dieting attempts, I could write a short novel. I am nervous and excited. If I have the consult in Nov. how long until we really get the ball rolling? Thanks in advance for your health and guidance, I have been looking at postings for months , you are all brave people and I admire you. I just got the nerve to create a profile. Crazy huh!

WELCOME Stacie! I am Sunni, I live in Radcliff and I had my surgery May 13th of this year! Once you are approved to have your surgery, and you go to the consultation..and/or seminar. It rolls pretty fast usually...At least for me, and the people I actually "know". I know you have to be EXCITED about your upcoming few months...and surgery. It is a little overwhelming, but it gets easier once it is all over with and you are on the losing side! (YEAH! ) I would like to tell you to be honest with your surgeon, and his staff. I know! I failed to mention that I "may" have had sleep apnea...(A little bit.. ) ,although I was never diagnosed, I knew the symptoms, and had been told many times that I stopped breathing in my sleep...and I did not listen! Well, I stopped breathing on the operating table , and they had to take time to get me breathing again, and put a C-PAP machine(?) on me so I would not do it again. Then everything went great! And Now I am -83 pounds and very happy! I hope you get all the information you need and are looking for! If I can help you, let me know! HUGGS Sunni 277/193(now)/?130?

Hi Stacia, I agree with Sunni. I had researched for 2 years before I went for my consult so I knew what I would need. I had enough other problems so I knew I would qualify . I also knew I needed 6mths supervised wt loss, so I had Weigh****chers under my belt but once I had my consult everything fell into place. My consult was 7/21 I had to do a psyc. evaluation and a neutrition evaluation plus a 4 week group class, a sleep study and Gall Bladder US. I was approved for Surgery the first of Sept and my insurance aproved me in 8 days and I'm scheduled for 10/13. I wish you the best of luck. The best advice I would have is look around spend alot of time reading. Do your homework and I believe is God brings us to this, he"ll bring us thru it. God bless
