Hello to all! Before I ask my question, I would just like to say, that you all are a big inspiration to me!! You are such brave and wonderful people!! Thank you ! Okay, I am fairly new to wls, have done a lot of research over the months, and I go one minute being READY TO GO FOR IT, and the next minute, thinking, what am I CRAZY! That could kill me! I would just love to get healthy, and not worry with my weight! (lol, wouldn't we all). I work with several who have had the surgery, and have had VERY good results with it. Some with complications, others with none. That was a couple of years ago, when our insurance approved almost anyone who met the qualifications according to thier surgeons. BUT that was then this is now, almost anyone that has CHA insurance (that I know of anyway) have been catagorically DENIED!! Even after appeals. Is there ANYONE out there that happens to be reading this message, that has CHA insurance and has been approved in the last couple of years, if so what kind fight did you have?? I have read that CHA will not approve anyone any more, no way no how. BUT I drove my mother-in-law to Lexington last Monday to a seminar at St. Joseph East, (she has medicare and will be having the surgery probably toward the end of October! Cant wait to see how it goes for her!) I didn't go in with her (OH HOW I WISH I HAD NOW!!!) But she told me they had people there just to testify for CHA, they did get approved BUT had to appeal it many times. They told them that CHA WOULD pay, but you may have to fight them. I was just courious if anyone out there has CHA, and has been approved lately. And also what kind of battle if any did the have. I appreciate any answers right now. I am so mad at myself with my health and weight, but I have been this way all my life! I once said I would NEVER put myself or family thru that, but maybe its the LORD bringing me here. I pray a lot on it.. We shall see, if it is the Lord, maybe I wont have as hard of a time as I think! I will stop rambling now, THANK YOU to all of you, you are terrific, good luck on your ongoing weight loss, God Bless, Kim Watts

I have CHA and I have been approved. They are even paying although my insurance will be cutting off before my surgery. They are great. I have no comorbidities. I was approved after 2 denials. I started the process in May and was approved at the beginning of August.
