Ideal Body Weight/Surgeons goal???

Ok my ideal body weight is 130. I am 5ft 4in and my surgeon says 130 would be to small for me. Dr Shina is my surgeon and I just love Dr Shina and Rite Weigh. I respect what he says, I am just curious as to why his goal would be 157 for me. I know after plastics that I will lose a few more pounds with the skin loss, but how is ideal body weight much different from our surgeons goals? I don't know if everyone's surgeons set the goal the same way. In my case, my surgeon sets his goal as a % of the total amount you have to lose. I believe it was about 70%, which is what they figure you can be guaranteed from just the surgery. If you are compliant with the eating restrictions and increase your exercise, etc... you can continue to lose. They set my surgeon's goal at 195. Then they asked me what I wanted my goal to be... heck, I didn't have a clue! I said 155, but a couple months ago I realized that if I get down that far I will be too thin. I have since revised it to a more reasonable number of 165 (I'm 6' tall). To be honest, I am very happy where I am now. If I didn't lose another pound it wouldn't really bother me. I told my husband a while back that I did not want to be focused on a NUMBER. That this time I wanted to do things right and to stop when I looked/felt good and was healthy. 15 years ago I dieted down to 132 (lost about 152#)... I looked emaciated, I felt terrible! So I am trying to be reasonable this time. BTW, I believe that 15# is considered the maximum amount of skin that can be removed at one time for health reasons. Sounds like you are doing great! Thank u Rhonna, I really have no idea about what I would like to weigh. I have been over weight since I was 5 years old and even my surgeons goal which I believe is the 70%, at 157 just blows my mind. I just want to get to where I am healthier, happier, and my body is comfortable. Man, I hope I don't have 15# of extra skin, lol. But if I do, maybe more than one surgery will have to do it. I was wanting the total body lift but oh well, we will just have to see. Angela 313/221/140?
