October Lexington Conference

Hi fellow Kentuckians. I am looking for other people from Kentucky who are going to be attending the conference in Lexington in October. I would like for us to keep in contact with each other so when we meet in Lexington we will all "know" others and feel more comfortable at the conference. I am excited, I have never attended one of the conferences and I am looking very forward to the opportunity to meet other WLS patients from across the nation, but especially Kentucky.

Hi Rosanna! I plan on attending the conference! I am really lookin forward to it! I have a friend of mine that had her surgery back in August and she wants to attend as well! I think you have a great idea here, about us all feeling more comfy!

I have a weekend home in Kentucky and it's only a couple hours from Lexington so I think I may try to come. I haven't seen a set-in-stone date for the event; is there one yet? DeeDee

I plan on coming as well. Hoping to have surgery soon so I will be on the losing side when I come. I am also trying to talk to my girlfriends into coming with me, they are trying to have surgery as well.

October 13 - 15.

Hi Folks..I am so glad everyone is getting excited..but Please don't mark you calenders yet. I am working on the event with ObesityHelp as I am the events specialist they are using in this area to set things up for them. We are now looking at the last weekend in Oct that is the 27th-29th..right now we are negotiating with the facility ..as soon as I am sure of the date and location I will put the announcement here on the board. I hope you all come to talk to me at the event, I will be the one running around like a chicken with my head cut off..lol

Oops. Sorry. I gave the dates above because that's what they are advertising on the OH Main Messageboard page. You may want to get with OH and have them stop that flashing ad so people won't get confused. Thanks for the correction.

That's not a problem at all!! I have brought it to the attention of Monica Ganz..she doesn't want to leave the announcement off and since it's so far away she thought she would wait to change it when we have an official date and place. Hopefully we will know something by the end of this month..which is of course within the next few days. I can't wait to see you all there!!

i am going for sure. You will "know' people anyway. Everyone will have name tags and they usually use their on screen name. it will feel lie you have known each other for ever. This is the way I felt when I finally got to meet Dana barr, david, jennifer B.and a few others from here. we all just recognized each other. there was a lot of looking and pointing during the meeting, then as soon as it was over, we all made a "beeline" for each other and laughed and chatted like we were old friends. it is so cool.

Hey Deloris which one did you attend? did you go to Chicago or Cincinnati?
