Louisville - who is doing WLS?

My sister lives in Louisville and is considering having Lap Band surgery. The OH lists only 2 surgeons. Surely in a place as large as Lou. there are more surgeons doing this procedure. I had WLS surgery in MS in 2004 and we have about 20 surgeons in the state. If any body has more info I would appreciate it. Thanks. Carol

I saw your post regarding your sister and thought I would reply. I had Dr. Jeff Allen from University Surgical Associates in Louisville do my surgery. I had the gastric bypass instead of the band. But - Dr does both surgeries. I had to go to Norton's Hospital down in town there in Louisville to have the surgery done. No complications whatsoever. Unfortunately, I had to pay out of pocket due to having an exclusion in the insurance policy stating that it wouldn't pay for this type of surgery. I would recommend Dr. Allen or his staff. Of course, there are other Dr's that possibly do this surgery, but I am not sure on the names, etc. If there's any other questions, feel free to ask.
