Feeling pretty good, managed to get all my water in yesterday, however today is not looking all that good, but it usuallypicks up for me in the evening for some reason. Tony, know anywhere in E. Ky where you can get the protein powders or sugar free stuff? Walmart dont have that big a selection.

Hey Gidget, Glad your doing ok, Wal mart doesn't really have much especially the one here in p burg. You could try GNC in Pikeville, they seem to have about the best selection in our area. I order mine from unjury, they have unflavored, choc, vanilla, and strawberry sorbet. I use the unflavored and mix it with Carb Countdown choc milk and it's pretty good, plus you can mix it with broth or S/F jello or S/F pudding. The unjury is a little expensive though but overall it's really good, you may be able to get some samples from some sites to try out before you buy a big container, I wasted money doing that lol. Hope you feel better! and keep walking! take care.

yeah i put the unjury in my choc pudding today and water...but it is making everything taste funny. I am still on a full liquid so options are kinda limited. I thought about making a strawberry flavored slushie with skim milk as I had milk earlier and that seemed to not upset the pouch.

I tried the unjury in crystal light and I didn't like the way it tasted, I had trouble getting in protein in the begining but I had a G Tube that went directly to my old stomach. I would just pour the protein in that, then a friend told me about the carb countdown milk and I've been drinking it ever since. I bet everything smells kinda weird to you right now lol I know it did to me for like a week straight. I was sipping at first like everyone else but now I can take much bigger drinks, You'll see what I mean in a few weeks. Take care! Let us know how your doing!

Thanks Amanda! I feel so much better now and have so much more energy, this was the best decision I've ever made. In the very begining I thought about the Lap Band instead of RNY but I changed my mind, I'm very glad I chose RNY now. I was also gonna go to Louisville and have surgery with Dr Gellar or Dr Shina but you know how far Louisville is from here, and I just couldn't drive that far. I would recommend Dr Nease to ANYBODY. I think he is great and everyone that he has done surgery on will tell you the same thing. The staff are great there and Cabell Huntington is the best hospital around in my opinion. I had no complaints with my treatment while I was there, they're setup is well organized. If you have ANY questions just ask I'll be glad to help. Take care.

Tony, Sorry to bother you with so many questions but I just wanted to ask you if you have had any problems since surgery, and what was the worst thing to you about having the surgery? I also like Cabell Huntington Hospital, I had my 1st child there 11 yrs ago and they where wonderful. Iv always said that if me or my children had to have something major that we'd go there. They treated me like a baby. Thanks for the info Amanda...

Hey Amanda, Don't worry your not bothering me at all! The only problem I had was one of my Lap incisions had almost gotten infected and had to be re opened, some old blood had built up in the incision from surgery and it had to be drained plus I had to pack it with gauze twice a day for the last 2 months. Of course this doesn't happen to everyone and It's really nothing compared to some of the problems people have like leaks and so forth, but I would go through it all again. I'd have to say the worst thing about the surgery for me was the soreness, it doesn't last that long though. This was the first surgery I've ever had and I wasn't used to being cut on lol. I just wish I had done it 5 years ago! take care.

I think Cabell is a good hospital as well, however Kings Daughters is the only center of excellance other than St. Joe East in Lexington. None in WV are ranked that and only 1 in Ohio I think. Having said that, I had my surgery at Kings Daughters in Ashland by Dr. Wheeler and I have to say they have their stuff down. From beginning to end they take care of you in every way shape form and fashion. they have an excellant bariatric program and the facility is top notch. Thank you as well for the kinds comments. I am only 4 days out so still sore, but it gets less every day, water consumption is not a problem just protein. gonna try the carb milk tony mentioned today and see how that goes
