HI Guys and Gals! I'm new here and need some help....

if anyone knows of a surgeon or place that specializes in bariatric surgery who is covered by Cigna POS and IN NETWORK, could you please let me know. I just got a call from Surgical Specialists of La. I was interested in Dr. Rachel Moore, Cigna does cover the surgery IF I meet their criteria (I'm not sure what the criteria is yet, but I'm willing to bet I can meet it), however Dr. Moore is out of network, so it would dig into my pocket book much more as opposed to someone who is in network. Any help or suggestions is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks a million, Kimberly

Hi Kimberly, There's a place on this site that lists what insurance companies have covered or not covered the surgeries. They are listed in alpha order. There's a bariatric coordinator who's also a really swell person named Aimee Horton. Aimee works with the bariatric program with the Christus hospital in Shreveport. Maybe she might be of assistance. She's in the Louisiana member directory. If you need anything in the south Louisiana area, let me know. I'm near the providers in Plaquemine, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. You mean St. Bernard Parish (as in Chalmette?) Try Dr. Roury O'Connell. All pf the surgeons at Surgical Specialists are wonderful. I'm partial to Dr. Warden (he did my DS) and Dr. Lavin (who assisted). You may be able to work something out with them regarding your out of pocket or co-pays. It wouldn't hurt to ask. They are a great group of surgeons with a lot of experience.
