Home from the hospital

All went well. The gas pain was the worst part but walking and the drugs they gave me helped. I am dealing with the wet gas now got to run.

Hi BettyJo, Glad to hear all went well and that you are hope. That gas issue can literally be a pain. I'll tell you a secret if you don't already know. If you lay on your left side, it helps release the gas. I forget what, but they say something puts pressure and releases the gas. It's the weight of the kidney or something... Wish I could remember what organ it is, but I can testify it works for me everytime! Congrats on becoming a loser! Take Care, Dee

Congrats on your surgery!!!! I can so relate to the gas...it hurt in my left shoulder for days. To some point it was the worse pain of the surgery. Good Luck with these first few weeks, I know they can be stressful. They were for me anyway!! Keep your head up and be strong!!!

Congratulations on being a Loser!! I've heard LOTS of people complain about the gas. It did not seem to that big of an issue for me... But, I have pretty "vague" memories of all of that now anyway! So glad you made it through. Now, just do what the doctor says to and you should be GREAT in no time!!! Blessings, Pam

Hello Betty Jo... I'm so glad you are doing well after surgery...I was at Southern Surg. Hospital on Wednesday morning for my nutrition class and pre-op..I asked Kim (RN) about visiting .. She said everyone from monday was being discharged or already had gone home...I'm anxious for my surgery on Wed. (22nd) There seems to be good organization and personable staff at the hospital..Did you feel adequately cared for?? The rooms were very nice and my hubby can sleep in the bed next to me too! Did you see Dr. Thomas everyday? Who was his helping surgeon? You are on day 5 already.. Can you believe it?? Feeling good today???When do you go back for post op?? Good luck and blessings.. Deb
