Good morning Saturday!
Howdy all
It's barely 5 a.m. and I'm wide awake on a Saturday morning! I'm in this cycle of waking up REALLY early and barely being able to keep my eyes open until 9 p.m. This works well M-F when I want to be alert to go to the gym at 4:30 a.m., but I'd like to stay awake a tad bit later on Friday & Saturday and maybe sleep in ... to 6 a.m.
I took yesterday off from work. I had an appointment with the nurse practioner at the urologist's office for a followup. I ran to A A Diagnostics after work on Thursday to have another KUB done to take with me. Unfortunately, the KUB was sort of cloudy and she couldn't see too much. Even the doctor who was in the office took a look and couldn't see anything either
, so we are not really sure about the status of my fragments. I'm not in an obvious pain or discomfort (feeling so much better since the stent came out) so I am to go back to my 'normal' life .. which I have been doing. I had stopped taking my calcium (I know .. BAD Mo BAD Mo) when they started the stent/lithotripsy thing. She told me to get back to taking everything I need to be taking and in 6 weeks to come back for another followup. At that point, she will probably schedule me for a 24 hour urine test (???) and some blood work which I have not had up to this point. Kidney stones are common in WLS patients but there are ways to 'manage' the stones even if they cannot be prevented. I'll know more in 6 weeks.
I had a fun time with my sister yesterday too. We met at Savage Mill and walked around, had lunch at Ramshead and of course the most important part of the day ... took possession of the sewing machine!! I scurried home and immediately unpacked the sewing machine and was in INSTANT panic .. there was no manual and I couldn't figure out how to even thread it
. Thank goodness for the internet. I ran back up to the computer, typed in Kenmore sewing machine instructions into Google .. and you would not believe, but the first or second 'hit' was a question ... Someone just gave me a Kenmore sewing machine and I can't even figure out how to thread it .. can someone tell me where to find a manual? It could have been MY question!!! Fortunately for me there were answers, and someone posted a link for sewusa.com and threading instructions. It took me a bit to figure out what machine model I have, but once I got that right I had directions that I printed out and I have had to follow several times so far. By the time I went to bed last night I had threaded it, gotten the bobbin in correctly, run the bobbin out and re-wound the bobbin AND rethreaded the machine again. It's going to take a whole lot of practice on this machine before I try anything too important. I got a an email that the bobbin cover for my Singer machine is in the mail, but I'm excited about the Kenmore too! For the first time I have a machine that zig zags! The Kenmore is probably 25-30 years old (??) and not electronic but has all the cams and stuff to do fancy things. I might have to spring for the manual if my sister doesn't find the one that came with it (assuming she got a manual when my godmother gave it to her).
Mr Mo and I are off to Hagerstown today (will probably leave here by noon) to the Hagerstown Speedway. This will be our first trip with the new RV other than bringing it home from North Carolina. Just a simple overnight trip, but it's going to be fun to get away. I think the weather should be perfect for the dirt track too! Or so I hope
If anyone would like to see our RV ... the pictures are on my webshots .. http://community.webshots.com/user/mo21012
Ok, I think I've run on for enough this morning. I'm going to go make a pot of decaf and putter a bit while I think of what else I need to do to get ready for our RV adventure
.
Hugs, Mo

If we spend our time comparing our life/weight loss/body to others, we totally miss what WE have accomplished. Keep in mind how far you have come and what you can do now that you couldn't do weeks/months/years ago. I hate the expression " It's all good", but in this case it fits! Wherever you are in your journey ... It's ALL good!!!
