Eric,  I will need to look at my schedule.  But, I would love to go.  Plus, it is close for me since I live in Frederick which is about 15 minutes away from Cunningham Falls.

How long of a hike were you planning? I am going into DC in the evening. (possibly buying a car that afternoon.) I could swing a couple hours if we could be back to the cars at say 1 o'clock at the latest. BTW.... Wear lots of bug/tick repellant..... They are really bad this year. I took my dog on the c&o walking path two weeks ago and she had 4 ticks that i found afterwards.  and we weren't even in the woods or anything just regular grass maybe at edge of the path.  ~K PS and if someone knows how to fix my avatar (cause i can't fix blurry) let me know..... I didn't even recognize you until I saw your old avatar!  You look great! We'd love to see you. I honestly don't see what we can't be back to the visitor center by 1 pm but, unfortunately, there's no way I can guarantee it.  I would love to be able to say we would but I just don't know.  It will depend on how fast or slow we'll be walking and how long we stay at the falls.  I can't even be sure we're going to the falls.  Also, what if we get lost again?  It’s a definite possibility if I’m leading the way!!   The best I can do is tell you that we will try. Thanks for the bug/tick suggestion.  I will keep that in mind. I'm sorry but I doubt I can be much help with your avatar.  I played for hours and hours and hours to get mine the right shape and size.  When I met a lot of the MD folks at the Trader Joe's event, somebody mentioned something about using avatar software. You may want to do a Goodle to see if a freebie exists... Please let me know if it does!!
