I just can't wrap my head around it!

I asked my PCP what goal weight I should aim for. He said that I should aim for a BMI of 21-23. I just got around to calculating that and at 5'7", that would be a weight of 135-140 lbs. I just can't imagine it. I was probably in kindergarten the last time I weighed that much! (Ok, so I'm exaggerating just a little.)

Right now, I'm shooting for 160-175, but in all honesty, I'd almost give my left arm just to be in Onderland! It just seems mind-boggling at this point. Did anyone else have a problem with determining a goal weight?

Yes that is me!  I was never given a goal.  My only goal was to become healthy and I did that in two weeks after surgery.  I have plans to ask my WLS next month if I have a true weight loss goal.  I think 150 is not too much to ask cause I am 5'2.  Talk to your WLS about this issue, they will tell you what they think. I'm 5'8" and the same thing if I get the the height/weight goal the charts have set, I think I will look ill. 175 will make me over the moon happy, and that is about what I weighed in my 20's and I think I looked darn good then. So I am making that my personal goal and then I will see from there!

I think we all have the same problem. The charts say I should be at 130-140 which I know will never happen: Anything under 200 I will be happy -  175 I will be over the the moon. By the way we started at the same weight.  so trust  me work the tool and It will work for you.
