At the Science Center they have Body Worlds 2 which might be interesting simply because of your upcoming surgery. I have heard that it is fantastic and look forward to going to it this summer myself.  From the website:

BODY WORLDS aims to educate the public about the inner workings of the human body and show the effects of poor health, good health and lifestyle choices.
