Hello fellow buddies.

Well I am 11 weeks out and have already fallen off the wagon when it comes to some things. I have stopped keeping my food diary which in turn, I don't get my needed 50g of protein in a day. Then I have stopped taking my multivit. a couple of weeks ago. I am still taking my other medications. I have noticed a decrease in weight loss in the past two-three weeks. I am very disappointed in myself. I am however, exercising about 4 days a week and have just taken up spinning class for which I am proud of myself. But, I just don't know what happened to me. So today I talked to my hubby and I wrote down my food intake for the day, and I am currently trying to suck down a protein shake. Anyway, just am asking for some thoughts or a good kick in the rear-end. I don't want to stop, I have come a long way.

thanks

Laura

Hi Laura,
OK KICK!!!! LOL The first step is that you realize that you have fallen and now it's time to get back up and get back on the wagon. You can do it! Very good on the spinning class! I don't even have the guts to do that one yet!!! LOL Please please please don't stop taking your vits and stuff! That is so important and can really cause issues if you don't keep up on it. Protein protien protein first and fluids all day long! You have to maintain those along with the exercise if you want to have success long-term.....life-time! Good that you are working on a protein shake right now and I hope you did take your multi vitamin as well. I know it's hard but it is all about life-style changes. The pouch is a tool and you have to do these things in order to work the tool properly. We all fall off occasionally, we are all human, so don't beat yourself up too bad. Just get up, dust yourself off and get back on!!!! Take care and good luck! I'm glad you posted!

Here is another KICK added on to Heathers :)

Trust me we ALL fall of the wagon sometimes just like Heather said. Mater of fact Heather and I are doing the 5 Day Pouch Test. I am 2 years out and have let alot slip back into my life. Sugar does NOT bother me and I wish i would of never found out. But I have been good for a while on that but I let the carbs in and I have been trying to kick them out but they wont leave. So the 5 DPT is to help kick that and to show you your tool still works

So like Heather said Get up, Dust yourself off and Today is a new day

Go to a support group meeting. Those always help. I have one in Crofton and our next meeting is Thursday July 31st from 6-8 p.m at the Crofton library on Reidel Road. I dont know how far you are from Crofton so if you can make it please come or I'm sure your surgeon has one .

Laura:  like someone said, you've taken that first step to get back on track.  we are just a day apart in surgery and I can see how you could slip.  It's tough to get in that protein everyday but I found out that I need to get it in or I feel terrible.  I've had some bumps in this road (as Dr. Singh says) but we are working thru them.  Please come to the support meeting on August 6th at St. agnes.  I drive over from the Eastern Shore (near Salisbury) and the meeting really does help see that others are having struggles too.  If you make it, please find me and introduce yourself.  Hopefully there will be a big crowd from around this area.  PM me if you want to talk.

Your vitamins are VERY important.  It's impossible to get adequate nutrition from the small amounts of food we eat.  Please take them seriously!

Hi Laura!
No kicks here! We are not here to kick each other in the @$$.  That's so shaming and negative in my opinion.  The act of you writing this post is showing that you know what you want and need to do to stay on track.  Just read what you wrote here.  No beating yourself up about it.  Just go forward and expect to have a few slip ups along the way.  Nobody is perfect, we are all human.  As long as you get back to your plan again and back to what works for you, you will feel good about your efforts and about yourself.  Most of all you will just feel good, energy wise!  Take care,
