oh Thanks Pam!!! that's calcuim carbonate in there right? doesn't that create extra gas for you? I always took the calcuim citrate for my supplement to cut down on the gas.....maybe I'm wrong with that.

because you are my fav guy on here (sorry other guys.. aaron has just endeared himself to me), i went upstairs and looked.  it is indeed calcium carbonate.  i'll be honest.. i do not know the difference besides the fact that my supplements have to carbonate.  i also don't know if they cause me gas or not.  gas has been an issue since i had my surgery two weeks ago and i have no clue what does or doesn't cause it.  a friend at work whose husband had this done told me about a product to use for gas.  when i told her that i typically use digestive advantage, she said no... that helps reduce the gas, but her stuff takes the oder out of the gas.  if that's an issue, let me know and i'll ask her again what it was she suggested.

awwwww.....you are a SWEETHEART!!!!!!!

so cool!!!! I'll have to buy a jug of Tums then and give those a whirl. I don't wanna have to keep a supply of Pepcid around....that's just too expensive for me.

Aaron , I hope the calcium carbonate in the Tums helps your tummy woes.
But I hope you will still be taking your daily dose of Calcium citrate

Calcium Citrate is the type WLS patients have to take, because it is provides maximum absorption of the calcium.

Calcium carbonate is not absorbed well by our bodies after WLS.

Dr Kligman's nutritionist should be able to answer any questions for you.

Hugs,

Thanks Jennifer

Yeah I'm still taking my calcuim suplements. Right now it has been nearly impossible to reach anyone at the office. I've been trying for the past two days.

I knew there was a reason to take calcium citrate!!! Besides, I like the texture of it better (I usually do the chewables)

Hi Aaron,  Dr Singh's discharge plan for me listed Prilosec OTC for at least 6 months.... and Calcium Citrate is more easily absorbed in the digestive tract.
                   Hope you feel better.
