better yet, don't think you do dump on sugar so you think you can't dump on it.  Boy have I got a story for you.  I am one of those post ops that can get away with some sugar so I decided to pu**** with dangerous results.  My post should serve as a warning, don't let this happen to you.

Thank you very much for sharing a very personal , real and serious message. This is such an important message. This surgery is a serious thing and sometimes I think we forget. At least I do. I agree it is just like a drug. It is our addiction and we must take it seriously. I guess I just feel that way  even more right now as a dear friend of mine (I met while swimming/exercising in the therapy pool) just lost her grandaughter well after surgery when she didn't take warning signs seriously. She was a couple yrs post op.She had lost her weight and was loving life. She was in pain and figured  she had eaten the wrong thing as we all do from time to time and she ignored it the next day she went in to the Dr. The cramps were pretty bad anyway she had a blockage and waited to long and ended up- I don't know if you call it vegetative , comotose or what now but she could blink , cry ,her family could read her expression but could not move but a vibrant young 20 something girl was in that condition for a couple yrs everyone hopeing she would come back. She had just gotten such a beautifl life and last week she passed away. Her Gramothers goal is to make sure all of us take this surgery seriously. She in no way feels no one needs it. She knows it gives many of us our lives.
I know I take this very seriosly and yet still screw up. I am human but your message, her granddaughter all brought me back to reality thankfully before anything happened.. I am so glad I had the surgery. It gave me a life but it is a serious operation and we must change our life for life and pay attention to our body signals. Thanks again Loving life and almost 2 yrs post op 254 lost and I have my independence back.
Love Laurie
