Dreamfields Pasta Very Low Carb
Have any of you tried Dreamfields Pasta? I hear it has only 5g of digestible carbs and twice the amount of fiber of traditional pasta. I'd like to know if anyone tried it and liked it.
We ate it on occasion before my surgery. I thought it tasted fine and didn't notice any difference. But we had it with meat sauce. So I mostly just tasted meat sauce, you know? I can't say how it would taste if you were having it with something less flavorful on top.
There is also Barilla Plus, which has 17 grams of protein per serving. Dreamfields has 7. Both sound good to me!
I love Italian food so much. I miss it.

How many carbs does the Barilla Plus contain? I read that with the Dreamfields, it was tested on diabetics and it did not raise their blood glucose levels after eating it, which is a good sign that what they claim is true.
My paternal grandmother is Italian from Florence, and I do love Italian food! This would be a good way to still have it occasionally. I love Manicotti and Lasagna!

I loved it pre-op, but post-op my pouch doesn't like pasta. I used it during Atkins, and managed to still lose weight, so I do believe that the impact carbs are only 5 per serving.
I also hail from Italian grands. My maternal grandfather was Sicilian and grandmother from Naples. They were both born there, and came to the US as babies/toddlers.
I eat the insides out of manicotti, and love it. I also have made pasta-less lasagna, with meat sauce and ricotta baked with mozz.

I've purchased it and hubby can't even tell the difference. Like Kathy, my pouch doesn't like pasta. Or at least it didn't until I got pregnant (Now it seems to like EVERYTHING ). Anyway, I've made it about 4 times and I would definitely buy it again. Hubby is diabetic and it does not raise his blood sugar levels.

I love Dreamfields! The trick is finding it...here on the Eastern Shore I have to go to Giant to buy it. It comes in elbows, lasagna, spaghetti and fettucine, I think. I think it tastes as good as any other pasta..and like previous post said, you really are tasting the sauces you use instead of the pasta...
