Its not broken but.....................
Kristen:
Please, please, take care of yourself. God gives us no more than we can handle so this will all work out.
Follow what the doc tells you to do and don't think you can be a super woman... although, I for one, think you are!
Keep us posted and remember we all love you and support you always.
Hugs,
Deb

sometimes i think they tell us stuff like that just so that we take it all seriously and work our program. do everything they tell you to do. i used to scoff at physical therapy, but i can see the difference in athletes that complete theirs versus those that don't.
Kristen ,
You have already gotten some very supportive replies so I am just going straight to it. The Drs probably are trying to scare you into following all the strict guidelines for PT, but that is good, because if you do not follow it to the T, you could end up like me. When I was a kid and all through school I was on the track team and loved running. After I fell down the stairs in 9th grade and hurt both my ankles, feet, and one knee, it was very hard to run again without pain. I did run, but was not as fast and was not as strong. Eventually I could not run without turning my ankles easily and causing more damage and causing arthritis to build up around the damaged joints. Now running is not possible and I have to walk. Just take care and do what they tell you and go to professional PT, not the do-it-at-home kind. You are worth the extra effort and so is running. There is nothing like it.
I'm sorry you have gotten hurt, and I hope to see you up again running very soon after you've healed! Good luck and fast healing and recovery. Hugs to you,
