OT - but a prayer would be nice
Hi all,
I work and go to school with a woman friend who after carrying her baby to term and delivering has lost her 2 day old infant. She said the baby stopped moving. She had an emergency c-section and the baby did poorly since the delivery. They sent him to Hopkins but he continued to deteriorate.
If you could please say a prayer for Magna and her family it would be wonderful. She is really being strong and says she is all cried out. I just can not even imagine the pain she is in.

having experienced something similar at 28 weeks, i can understand some of what she's feeling. sadly, it's a staged grief that will likely include a period of blaming herself.
my husband later told me that the counselor at the hospital instructed him to instruct my friends and family that i needed understanding, not advice/solutions. so, be there to support her feelings, but try to refrain from trying to say things you think will make her feel better.
and definitely prayers said!

it does! but peopel mean well. they get nervous and blurt stuff out. even for those of us with deep faith, comments like "he's with God now" are not well-received.
