Boston Chicken?
Hi Jilly,
It sounds as if your friend's story was a bit exagerrated. I know some folks have trouble with rotisserie chicken after WLS because the chicken is too dry and fibrous to get through their new small stomachs, but if they chop it up and chew thoroughly, and use something with it like gravy or mayonaisse or a sauce that is not loaded with sugar, it goes down and stays down. I have heard this from people with RNY and DS surgery. It does not happen with everyone this way. You will figure out which foods work well with your new anatomy and how to modify them to make them slide down easily and stay down. I agree with Cira, you can eat anywhere you want to. You will just modify the portion size and maybe avoid a huge servingof the sugar-loaded sweet potatoes and the corn bread. I like to eat Boston Chicken now, and dip it or mix it into the cheesy spinach, so I plan to try that eventually after surgery when I get back to solid foods.

Thanks Jennifer. ;o) I have never tried the creamy spinach. LOL I am not that brave. I ALWAYS get the red taters and corn with a quarter white meal. And I LOVE the Cornbread! So I know I will have to cut the cornbread atleast. I have never had chicken dry there *Knock on wood* so hopefully I will be good to go. Thanks for your input ;o) ~Jilly~
