Hi Lori!

My suggestion would be to first figure out what surgeon you are going to use/consider. Go to dsfacts.com to find surgeons that are vetted to do the DS and see if they are on your approved doc list. If you don't have a list, call docs that you are interested in and see if they take your insurance.

Next, talk to your future insurance provider and find out what they require in terms of getting approval. Some require a 6 month diet, some 3 months, some no diet. But get an idea of what you need to do and start doing it.

From there get consultations scheduled and get your approval steps taken care of and before you know it your time will be here!
