Topic: Anyone remember me??
I have not been on this site in forever it seems. Just a quick update on me, I am 18months out and I am wearing a size 8 do you believe it?? Even though the scale is staying the same my body is still shrinking not that I am complaining but when does it stop? Hope everyone is doing well!

Nicole,
Congratulations on your wonderful progress. I really don't have much experience, since I am only 2 weeks out. Keep up the great work.

Topic: so what is new w/ you?
Just figured I'd post and say hi! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and spent it with as many annoying family members as possible. I went to South Jersey to visit my parents and some other family members. Had a great time with them.
Even though I have not made it to goal weight yet, I decided to go see some plastic surgeons to see what kinds of procedures I might need, how much weight I would need to lose and how much money it looks like I will have to shell out to get myself where I want to be. I'm scared and excited about the process. I am so ready to move on from being the person who has a life focused around her weight and food.
I have started back on the exercise kick. I am inconsistent but there is this desire inside of me to be consistent. Last night I spent an hour and a half at the gym and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ran a quarter mile on the treadmill at 4.5 pace 2.5 times in a 30 min period. my goal is to one day run a whole mile without stopping.
I am dating someone new too! I met him online in October and we have been going strong ever since. I am taking is slow and luckily that is the type of person he is. I am so enjoying having a partner in my life to do things with. Plus he is #1 in the cuddle department.
I started a new job in July and it is going pretty slow. I am not sure what my future holds but I do have a job interview for the government on Thursday. I do not know that I will take it, since it will keep me at APG but it is nice to have options!
So all and all, life is going very well. Having RNY has truly transformed my life completely. I used to ask myself why i was here....now i ask, ok what is next to do! I hope that many of you experience this transformation as well.
If anyone is new here and has questions, feel free to contact me. I will be 3 years out in february and have experienced it all.
So that is what is new w/ me. How bout you?

Topic: RE: Have Ulcer/GERD - Need advice on medicine schedule
wow that is hard to figure out, especially that morning situation. why does synthroid have to be taken on an empty stomach? how long do u have to take the carafate? hopefully it won't be for very long. so sorry you are going through that. i do not have any suggestions though. would some type of liquid be o****il you can eat? maybe drink alot of water til u can eat. not sure how that would affect things but might help you feel less hungry.
Topic: RE: Need advice related to weight gain
if you are actually keeping track of your food and exercising, gaining does not make sense to me. i would suggest making an appt w/ ur surgeon or their nutritionist to see what might be in your diet that could cause continued gain. try to stay positive.
Topic: RE: Help and a really BIG vent!
i am so sorry to hear about what you are going through. it is definitely not typical. you should be able to eat normally (most things) and feel more energy, not less. you definitely need to get this figured out w/ your surgeon. I would not leave the office until there was a plan set up to figure out what is going on, tests to be done, how you will follow up with him, possibly talking w/ a nutritionist, get all your blood work done. be a ***** if you have to. good luck!
