Topic: WELL,, I'm really begining to question,,,
my WLS.
So what is worse,
Over weight, diabetes, or dealing with anemia. Third round of labs were Friday, going for ultrasound of kidneys Monday, and have an appt with a specialist the day after we get back from vacation. Yea,, that is buzz killing my vaction. After all,, it is only $8 to $9,000 week. I don't even want to go and bring the entire family down. I have trip insurance,, so I could recoup some of the $$$$$. But El refuses to take the girls without me going. I really have no desire to go at this point, and my mood right now scares me,, the first TSA agnet that gropes one of the girls will **** me off to the point of wanting to do something that would get me into trouble. I am really regretting WLS at this point. From the info sent to me from the Dr, it looks like I could be facing shots every other week, that HAVE to be done by a DR, for the rest of my life. This really sucks.
Thanks for the vent.

Topic: RE: Biotin {{X Post}}
I love Biotin and what it does for my hair and nails. I take a 1,000 mcg tablet each day. It's a B vitamin so anything excess that your body doesn't use is excreted. No danger of overdosing.

No Matter How I May Change, I Will Still Be ME!!!!
I am 18 months post op from RNY. I went thru the hair loss phase & it wasnt bad. In July I had plastics which ended up with major complications & resulted in 7, yes 7, more surgeries due to massive infections. So I wound up with major anesthesia in my system. Now I am seeing MAJOR and I do mean MAJOR hair loss. I mean when I wash my hair or comb my hair {{I cant even use a brush anymore!!}} it falls out by the handfull! My stylist said it is a result of the anesthesia. My concern led to numerous labs from my doctor, which showed all my levels were good & no signs of major issues like lupus or lymes.
So now I am going to try Biotin. But I am unsure of how much to take. I did look online and I found several different dosages.
I know people here have used it, so I am hoping someone can give me some insight on how much to take. Help please!
Also, has anybody else went thru this & what did you do?

Topic: RE: I have to find a new PCP - any suggestions?
I see Dr Usha Vemulakonda from Seton Medical Group - she is in the same building as DVR and Dr. A...
She is awesome in my book - I have her cell number... when all of my complications after surgery were going on, she was on vacation yet took the time to call the hospital after I left her a sobbing voicemail - she also came home and visited me on a SUNDAY when she doesn't normally do hospital visits...
She has been great with my RNY requirements, and is amazing in my book!

Topic: RE: Exercise and Water - Who's with Me?
I just don't have time in my schedule to drive to and from the gym right now; so, I've been walking/running in my neighborhood. Did 2.5 miles on Monday and Wednesday. Did a mile today (intended to do 2.5 again, but my sister pulled up and talked me into going to Big Lots).
Drinking Crystal Light as I type. I decided the same thing this morning about filling up the 2qt. pitcher!
Cruised 3 other times, but thanks for the offer!
If you Facebook, we should friend to remind each other. I'm already friends with Nikki.

Topic: Stick To It! Magnetic Menu Planner (x-post)
My friend and I have created a magnetic menu planner that we believe puts an end to the age-old question, "What's for dinner?" It is a customizable, long-term solution to menu planning. I'm really excited because I truly believe that one major key to weightloss success is planning. Planning limits those last minute dinners out or runs through the drive through because nothing was planned for dinner saving both money and our health!
Our 8-1/2x11 magnetic calendar comes with 40 magnetic tabs that allow you to write your family favorite meals on them and store them where they are visible either right on the planner or the refrigerator. No more scouring cookbooks or wracking your brain for ideas, which is a big time saver!
Basic use of the planner is for 2 weeks of dinners, however, because each day fits more than one menu idea it can be used in a variety of ways such as 4 weeks of dinners, 1 or 2 weeks of lunch and dinner, 2 weeks of meals with an entree and side, 1 week of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack.
Please check us out on Facebook and if you like what you see, please be sure to share it with your Facebook friends!!

Topic: RE: Need help 4 days post op
It's fairly normal...your bowels are just starting to "wake" up from your surgery. Best thing you can do is get your water intake up and walk, walk, walk and walk!!!!! The more you walk, the more they will wake up and get motivated. It also helps push all the gas out.
