Topic: RE: I have to find a new PCP - any suggestions?
I've never met a doctor who allows you to reach them directly.

I have Dr. Jonathan McCoy in Hanover as my PCP.  He's very personable, he takes his time with you, very thorough, is open two evenings and 2 Saturdays a month.  He will call you personally with your test results.  He likes to give a complete physical on your first visit where you'll be in with him for at least an hour.

His staff is excellent...very nice, professional and thorough.  He takes almost all insurances including medicaid and medicaid MCO's.  His office is right across the street from Arundel Mills Mall.

He wrote an outstanding letter of medical necessity for my insurance approval...once I turned his letter in, I had approval within a couple days.

I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to see him.

Topic: RE: Exercise and Water - Who's with Me?
I'd love to join. Those are the very two things that I just recommitted to getting better with myself!! And I also have 15 I need to knock off prior to pursuing plastic surgery. Well done on the walking!!

I walk/jogged on the treadmill for 35 minutes Monday and yesterday I did 35 minutes on this crazy wicked new machine at the gym that is like an elliptical trainer on steroids. I loved it! Also did weights with biceps, triceps, and chest press. I'm planning to do some abs this evening after the kid**** the sack. Might even get crazy and do a little Tae Bo.

My water seems to be MUCH better on days I exercise. Today I also sucked a bit with my water, but the night is young! I've decided I'm filling up a 2 quart pitcher each morning and that bad boy will be gone by night. I tend to need to add crystal light anytime I'm not drinking while exercising--still bugs my pouch this far out even. And don't even get me started about how hard it is to drink plain water in the morning!!

Nik, take your vitamins!!! I've got my talking pill box reminder working, so I'm doing pretty well on that front. I just am terrified not to take them. I feel dirty if I miss a dose. So I have done plenty of feeling dirty, but for the most part I'm okay. Now get to that pill box missy!!

Thanks for suggesting this!! Oh, and I LOVE cruising--have you been before? I have lots of tips if not!

Have a great night!

Denise

My PCP is now out of network. I can't afford an out of network doctor. Besides she and I hadn't really "bonded" bonded and her location is sort of out of the way for me.

I am in Baltimore City. My requirements for a PCP are as follows:

-Accessible hours (evening/weekend hours a plus)
-Friendly demeanor
-Does not treat me like I am on a conveyor belt of patients
-Some experience with bariatric surgery is a plus
-Nice nursing staff
-Takes things like labs seriously
-Will give you a number to reach them directly
-Reasonable wait times

Any suggestions? I have United Healthcare by the way. I'm willing to research any doctor but I want to make this move my last (or at least last for a while).

Topic: Exercise and Water - Who's with Me?
Since my whole kidney stone drama back in June, I have been really neglecting my fluid intake and my exercise.  Monday, I made the committment to get back at it (I reeeaaaalllllly want to lose these last 15ish pounds before my cruise in January).

Anyway, I'm wondering if there's anyone interested in keeping each other motivated and accountable.  I did 2.2 miles on Monday and 2.5 miles today.  Water --- well my intake still sucks. But I am sure got more today than I did yesterday... so that's a step in the right direction.

If you're interested, let me know!
