I am a mortgage banker and very often you can talk to the title officer about insuring around the lien under the cir****tances. Don't take this lying down! It might vary between states, but do your due diligence, but you shouldn't have to pay a debt you do not owe. BTW, I am being banded July 4th, scared to death!
