Topic: Dr. Corvala

I just cancelled surgery with my planned surgeon Dr. Almanza after reading the news reports that were just aired. I realize you get what you pay for. I read that Corvala is one of the top surgeons in mexico, Anyone use him that can share their experience? How much does he charge for a sleeve?

I'm scheduled with Dr. Fernando Garcia at Tijuana Bariatrics for July 17th!! I did a bunch of research and feel very comfortable with him.

Anyone know anything about Dr. Camelo Ramos?  Lady from medicaltourism.co just called with a quote of $5500 or so and the doctor's suggestion of being resleeved.  Does it at Florence Hospital.

She said Ungson takes a while to get back to her and his rates are going WAY up due to newly added administrative fees.  Plus the procedure is not done at a hospital (???) so that costs more as well.

I haven't went yet but I'm scheduled for VSG with Ariel Ortiz At the obesity control center. He has lots of reviews on Docscores.com and good info on their website.

Topic: RE: Not having a passport....my coordinator says I don't need one?

I know someone who went on a cruise in 2012 with just their birth certificate and photo ID. This person had been DENIED a passport due to owing child support. I saw the denial letter. I don't know if the person at the cruise terminal was lax that let him through or if it this new rule is not followed closely all the way around. This person was my ex, what a loser. Ha!

If I were you, I wouldn't take that chance. I applied for a passport card. It's cheaper than a passport book. I didn't expedite it and it came in the mail in 3 weeks. Good luck!!!

Good question!!!  I'm just praying that I won't have to deal with that problem. I've been researching for about 2 years. I think I'm at peace with going to Mexico. I'm hoping that I'll be ok.
