I'm having a revision with Dr. Rodriguez in 2 weeks. I have obsessively researched and feel great about my decision and his abilities. He has performed over 10,000 bariatric surgeries and you stay the entire time in the hospital and not a hotel. If I wasn't using himc Dr. Ramos Kelly would be my second choice.
There was no passport need to or from Juarez, just my Drivers Lisence and Birth Certificate and I on my way I went!
Sure I can,
The hospital use the leg compression stockings that go up to your mid thigh area. Yes, they do a leak test before you leave the hospital, which is a gross taste. I am doing great! I had ZERO complications and everything went well. I never once had any problems. Until now I'm still doing wonderful. In one of my post to someone else I mentioned that I have lost 74lbs. The reason I'm back on here is because my daughter just had the sleeve and she had it in the states and she has been feeling nauseaed everyday for 3 weeks. It is a different type of surgery and the people I talked with that had the sleeve went through the same thing. But, as for me Dr. Rodriguez if a very good doctor and the hospital was the best as well.
Hello TryingHard18,
In 2001 I had the Gastric Bypass (RNY) in the states and I went to Dr. Rodriguez in June of 2014 for a revision of the RNY. It's where the intestine are cut even shorter so I can stay full longer. Since then I have lost 74lbs and still trying.
I was in the same boat as you, so I ended up using A Lighter me just so only thing I'd have to do is pay them, and everything else will be arranged for me. My parents aren't happy either, but I know I need to do this for myself. My moms coming with me because she's scared to let me go alone, I am too, but you gotta do what you gotta do!
Good luck!
Hello everyone,
I've never posted here before but I'd like to thank all of you for sharing your experiences. I have finally booked my surgery date in Tijuana Mexico (July 29), through A Lighter Me with Dr. Elias Ortiz.
I'm so nervous and super excited all at the same time! But I have never left the country and have no idea how to behave once I am in Mexico!
How much money (US $) should I have, ALM covers my hotel stay and transportation, but how much do I tip the driver!? Do I tip every time? Any troubles at the border coming back home?
Any tips/help would be great!
Sim.
I had the Sleeve. I went with my husband. It was nice to have a travel companion but I have seen a lot of people on here that go by themselves.
Congrats on your surgery. What procedure did you have? if you don't mind me asking. And did you go by yourself?
Thanks for responding. I want to go in the late part of May. But being on hear is confusing me so much now. I'm still weighing my options. Let me know who your final choice is.
Thanks for your response, I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience.
