I have had my menstrual period twice this month and do not know if this is normal or what. Has anybody that has had surgery had this happen to them? Could it be due to the hormonal change that I might be going through? The first time was not even my normal timing and this time was when I was supposed to have it. Is their something I should be doing or should I call my surgeon what do you all think?
The thing is I always have my period on the same day I'm very regular so that is what is kinda getting me sketchy. The first time I had bleed pretty well and this time not so much. So pleas give me some advice or let me know if this is something that happens to some patients after w.l.s.
yes, it happens often to women who menstruate. It is from hormone dumping, as hormones are stored in fat and when the fat is broken down and used during weight loss, the hormones flood your blood stream and can cause break thru.
They can also make us *****y or Whiney
, but none of it lasts.

Thank you for the reassurance.. I think I am just coming up with anything everything to have anxiety about since the though of the actual surgery is a little daunting. Best wishes!
Hey guys,
This may sound like a really stupid question, especially coming from a nurse, but after getting your surgery in Mexico, what kind of pain meds did they give you post op?? and did they send you home with a prescription? If so, how did you get it filled?? and what was the prescription for? I am going to be returning to work less than 2 weeks post op and have the feeling I'm going to need some pain meds along the way...
I was given ketrolaco and I had a prescription but the the staff got it for me before going to the U.S. You can always go to you doctor in the U.S. and tell him you are in some pain and ask if he can give something for you. You were not given nothing for pain before going to the states?
I'M a big girl as well and also had surgery with Dr, Quinones and had to go through the same thing with the plain. But you can ask ahead of time it their are seats open that they might be able to put you in one by your self or most of the time the plain is not even full just weight tell the plain get aborted and move to a different seat. you will be just fine and you should not worry about what other think just remember that you are doing this for your health and one day we will be able to get on a plain with no problem.
I think that the success of the patient is directly related to the job that the surgeon did. I did not use Dr. Q but did have my surgery in Mexico. Good luck to you, whomever you choose.
Before I lost weight, I used to fly once a year and it was never a pleasant experience. I used to dread it, actually. I was actually bigger than you, at a size 26. Just remember that these flights will hopefully be your last ones at this uncomfortable weight and grin and bear it. I had my surgery in Mexico, despite having family members disagree with my decision, and I have never been happier. The only regret I have is not having done this sooner. Good luck to you.
I was given the actual medication (not a prescription), but it was in spanish and something I had not heard of before. I only needed it once after I left the hospital because I never had too much pain but it was sufficient when I did. If you have surgery in Mexico, I would suggest you line up a doctor near your home to follow up with you after surgery. That way, if you happen to need a prescription, you can get it.
Thanks! Yep, just gritting my teeth and dealing with it is going to have to be a game plan. Thank you for a nice and down to earth reply. Best wishes!!
