My week in the hospital...

My week in the hospital began with a visit to the ER( 5-1) after not being able to hold down anything solid, after being there almost a week an enduring every test you can imagine, I ended up having an exploratory lap done yesterday(5-7) my doctor found I had several adhesions that were causing my small intestine to "kink" He cut those loose and put me back on track with a liquid diet for a few days following the same program as my original progression with food, so here I am over 14 months later trying to remember, what was good on pureed diet and what was gentle on the tummy at the soft stage. Refresh my memory if you all wouldnt mind...I have lived on cream soup and Carnation Instant Breakfast for the past week needless to say that is getting very very boring. Jill

So sorry dear Jill this happened. I'm so sorry. I believe that sometimes I get scared because I get sick. I know if my Mom asks me about it she worries that I too will become ill and have tubes someday. What I can offer is my shoulder, friendship and compassion and knowing that I have undergone similar problems that have put me in the hospital as you well know. I know it's boring, but try something with a little kick (I drank spicy V-8) and remember that it won't last long. Hopefully. I pray for you to have speedy recovery my friend Stacey W

Gosh Jill, how awful! Glad you are on the road to recovery now. I ate alot of pea soup, because of the higher protein content. And of course protein drinks. Back then, that's about all you could get in in a day. It must be harder now, when you have been used to eating regularly for the past 14 months. Best of luck to you! Theresa
