I am home from surgery
Goodmorning everyone....
I can't thank you all enough for the wonderful thoughts and prayers for me during my surgery. They were all needed. I see Darlene...my dear Angel updated you on things. Thanks Darlene...your the greatest!! Surgery was scheduled for 1:45, I never got into surgery until around 5:45. Talk about a long exhausting day...waiting. By then, I was second guessing things, that maybe the Lord didn't want me to go through with this. Then I was wondering if the Dr. would stay way past his time, and still want to do mine, as it was all their time to go home. Just so many things crossed my mind...waiting. When my time did come, and I seen Dr. Foote waiting for me, he asked how I was doing, I broke down and started crying. Emotions..don't we just love them. He asked if I was going to be OK...what a sweet Dr. he is. Things went great during surgery, he said it was all textbook...whew...thank goodness. I got out of surgery alittle after 8:00 that night. I didn't get any sleep in the hosptial...of course, who does. They said I could be released after 2:00 yesterday, so I decided to come home around 6:00 last night, and get rest here, which has been nice. A big Thank You to Darlene Nelson for taking the time to come visit me, she brought me some great gifts. A beautiful Angel journey book...I am going to love keeping track of my new life journey in. She also brought me the best smelling cherry blossoms hand/body lotion along with a wonderful smelling candle. Thank You and God Bless you Darlene. Thanks to Julie Rhoades for calling to check on me, I apprecaited that, you are wonderful!! I am still alittle sore, but have been more gassy. In time I am sure this will all pass. Again..THANK YOU ALL and God bless you all for all the thoughts and prayers. You are the greatest bunch of people!!
God bless
Hugs

Cheryl, I'm so glad you are home. Isn't Dr. Foote a sweetie? I must be used to noise because I slept pretty good, except for when they came to check my blood sugar and take blood tests. I swear they buy the dullest lancets they can find to save money. Darlene brought you some great gifts. I bet that lotion is wonderful. Take care and get up and walk, walk, walk to get rid of that gas.
Hi Ann
I feel sooo much better being home. YES...Dr. Foote is such a sweetie, very kind and caring. I feel blessed to have had him for my surgeon. The good Lord lead me to a wonderful Dr. I don't think it was the noise in the hospital, just the constant visit all night long. Then my IV went bad, so in the middle of the night, the RN took that out, and couldn't get it back in anywhere. He finally called a RN up from the ER as they have better practice. It took her 2 times, and finally got it. Needless to say, I have some pretty black/blue marks on my arms. YES....it was so great to have met my Angel Darlene, she is a real sweetheart!! I love the gifts, how kind of her to do that for me. I have been walking walking walking to get rid of the gas. It helps to sit in my chair and rock also. I have been great at sipping, and did get one hot choc.in me already. YEAH...
Thanks Ann
BIG HUGS....
Cheryl
Yeah Cheryl! You're home!
I just got back up to Ludington from Grosse Ile last night, and just catching up on posts. Glad to hear you are doing well. Keep on walking that gas off girl. I'll hazard a guess that today you are feeling much better already. I met Dr. Foote the last day I was in the hospital. Even though he assisted on my surgery, I don't recall meeting him before. Wonderful fella. He grew up on Grosse Ile - where I just moved from. He was stunned that we were both from the same place an knew so many people in common.
Going for a walk now,
Julie
Hi Julie...
Great to hear from you. Thanks so much for the phone call while I was in the hospital. You sound like you are doing great, especially if you just traveled down to Detroit. WOW...you go girl!! It is so great to be home. I have been doing good at walking and sipping, I even got a hot choc. down already today.
Hugs,
Cheryl
