I am looking for suggestions on calcium and vitamin D supplements. I have a history of not being able to tolerate them because they cause me severe stomach distress and constipation. When I was 3 months out from surgery, the dietician started us on Citrical Petites. I took these for a couple of weeks and then the same thing occured. I tried Viactive chews, same thing happened. Right now I am depending on foods that contain these supplements. I would like to take them so I don't have to worry about it if I can't get all the foods in. Does anyone know of a brand that is easy on the digestive system????? Thanks, Phyllis

Have you checked at the health food store? I do Viactive so I am not sure about one that is gentle. You may want to ask your pharmasist. Let me know what you find out. God Bless and take care---Toni

Hi Phyllis- I use Chewable Caltrate(cherry, orange, & fruit punch flavors). It says it has 600mgs of Calcium, 400 IU of Vitamin D. It works good for me; but I realize everyone is different. I also take two Chewable Tablets of Benefiber a day (one mid morning and one at night). They have an orange creme flavor. Good luck; I hope you find a good combination for you. Dora H

Hi Phyllis, I still take 3 tums a day for my calcium, and my labs are always good. I buy the sugar free smooth orange creme flavor and they are not chalky at all. Easy to take. As far as Vit. D, I really don't know. Best of luck to you! Theresa
