dry heaving?

My surgery was 2/9/05 and lately I've had problems with dry heaving. I was shopping yesterday about 2 hours after I ate and suddenly I got really weak, nauseated and started to dry heave. Does anyone else have this problem??? I'd appreciate you're input. This also happens sometimes after I've had a really fast and heavy BM.........I don't know why........thanks

Go**** really sounds like dumping to me, but at over a year out, I wouldn't think you'd be so sensitive to that. Mmmm....I'd tell your surgeon and see what he thinks. Good luck! Theresa

I thought it might be dumping from Carbs?? We'd gone to Olive Garden and I had the mannicotti, but I thought the cheese would be ok............Thanks for your reply!

I had the same reaction in about 1 to 1-1/2 hours after drinking my chocolate protein shake with peanut butter....three times! I stopped mixing peanut butter into my protein shake and it disappeared. I was told it was dumping.... could be same with you. Good luck! Michelle 311/240/145

I dry heave all the time, and am almost 3 years out. Some people suggested I am eating too fast or too much. I guess it is not all the time.....probably twice a day though. Take care Tracey

I get that feeling if I eat too fast....it is a icky feeling....so maybe too much is going down at one time. Try eating a little slower and see if that helps.......I've tried "really" waiting a minute or so in between bites and it seems to really help... I hope that helps you. All the best to ya! Kori

Thanks so much for the help!!! At least I know it's not something that's unique to me!!! I could be eating too fast, I have a hard time remembering to eat slowly and chew well, however, when I don't chew well it all comes back up!! The dry heaving could be eating too fast???
