I am feeling like I need substance and I am feeling hungry. I think I am healing fast and I think I need a fill soon, I don't go bac****il the 20th. Who should I contact about this? The patient assistants or my nutritionist at Barix? I don't want to call the wrong person. I feel I could sit down and eat a meal and I don't like feeling like this. It's too darn tempting when I cook for my family. I need restriction.... any suggestions or ideas.......cottage cheese doesn't do it now I have had it three times. I want an egg and some bacon..........just something, I have been craving a NY strip with mushrooms. I won't do it. I will follow my direction but its becoming hard. Maybe it will get better when I go back to work tomorrow. Jackie

Jackie I would start with your nutritionist and see what advise they have to offer. He/she might have a "trick" that will help you with that need to chew, or possibly give you the ok to advance your diet a bit. If they don't have any answers for you, I would contact your surgeon and see what he has to offer! Good luck! Jennifer 355/228/150

Jackie, I know how you feel, I went through that too. It really is head hunger. I thought I could eat everything..... in my mind, but I stayed on my meal plan. The thing is, when I could eat some food, it didn't feel as exciting as I thought it would. Yes, the first bite of whatever I was eating would taste so good and then that's it. After the first bite or two, that will be it. If you don't know how to stop, trust me your new stomach does. It won't be the same as it you think it will be in your head. By the time you finish chewing everything up, you will be too tired to overindulge...hehehe. Be patient, it's coming...you'll be there before you know it, plus you don't want to move on to something too soon and cause problems. Best wishes to you! You can do it!

I called my nutritionist and she said to add instant mashed potatoes to my beef or chicken broth so I did and that was much more satisfying. I also used my tupperware shaker and use a vanilla protien drink, 1 cup of skim milk, and one packet of carnation instant breakfast sugar free. Very good. Thank you for all the great advice....
