Well, today I am officially 2 weeks post-op. I went to my appointment, got weighed in and had my staples removed. I feel so much better now that they are gone. I am doing well and moving onto pureed foods today... woo hoo.... I made some awesome liver pate for dinner and it was sooo good.... I am getting in all my protein and all my fluids too. Anyway.. I am now down 24.5 pounds since surgery!!!! I am so excited and glad that I did this and that I am now on the path for a much healthier life. Shawn 290/265.5/150

Thanks Judy.... Yes, liver pate'. I have always liked liver and when mixed with the right ingrediets it is awesome..... not much different than liverwurst (which I love that too), but it is better when made from scratch. I know not many people like liver, but I do and I am glad I do because it is actually packed full of nutrition! Gonna have some more for lunch tomorrow I think too... Oh and I was able to have a cracker with it too... I don't know what tasted better... LOL.... Shawn M.

You can keep that liver...All of it!!!! My mother ate so much liver when she was pregnant for me I think that is why I hate it so much!!! I just had some cheese and crackers for my snack tonight. Yummmmmm Hang in there you will have more foods soon!! Hugs Judy

You know, they say, liver and onions cooked in a cast iron skillet contains more iron than any pill does for a woman's nutrition. Fact or fiction?? Dunno. I recall being brought up with Liver and Onions cooked in cast iron at home with green beans and cornbread and sometimes even fried taters. It's a southern thing. Shawn, am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooo thrilled for you to be this far out and doing so well and eating liver pate....well, I have not journeyed down that path lately, guess I'm afraid to. I think you are doing just marvelous and I can't wait until you hit the ONDERLAND.......I'll come down and see you for that me sweet. Love ya sister....welcome to the greener side Stacey W 310/151

What a great accomplishment in just two short weeks. Keep up the good work. This is definately the most difficult part of recovery is those first 6 weeks. Suzanne

Thanks Suzanne. I will definitely be glad after the next 4 weeks pass and I am off my weight lfting restriction and can really start to work out and can pick up my kiddos again. Also I will have even more food choices again. Right now I am just loving being up to pureed foods for the next 2 weeks, then it is onto soft foods.... Wooo Hooo.... (I never thought I would be so excited about the types of foods I am eating... LOL) Shawn M.

Thanks so much Dawn.... I did not expect to lose so much so fast either... I mean I knew it would come off fast, but I didn't think this fast. I know it will slow down as my food choices and types increase though, and I am ready for it. Thanks again. Shawn M.
