Traverse Area Nutritionist

Hello, I was wondering if anyone in the Traverse City area could recomend a dietician, preferably one with knowledge of bariatric sugical patients. Also if they are familiar with the MMPC program would be helpful but not neccesary as they said they would send an info package to them. Thanks. Alan

Alan I just went to Carry at MMPC. She also has e-mail if you need questions answered. I don't know of anyone up here. You could call the surgeons in Traverse City & see who they use. Good luck, Nancy

I just got back from seeing the internist there and she wants see a nutritionist. I am on hold for a couple of weeks because I just quit smoking so whe wanted me to do this in the interim. They said I could go up here so I didn't have to travel back and forth as much. Thanks I will check with Munson.

A friend of mine in town is a certified personal trainer and nutrionist. She would probably be able to help you out. I met with one of the registered dieticians at Munson and personally, I found her to be less than helpful. I could have taught her more than she could have taught me. So I do not recommend them. I saw a nutritionist in TC back in Dec. I am having my surgery there so I used theirs. I liked her but I have also only been to one nutritionist so don't know what really to expect. Try the one Julie recommended and if you want to you can try the one I saw, just call Grand Traverse Surgery. I am sure they would be happy to give you her #. Good Luck ! ~~Rona

Munson has dietician that work with bariactric patients. They work with the surgeons in TC.
