AI is fixed!
That show is fixed, lol. Those people think they can sing by the time they get to the judges because they have to make it through three rounds with producers before they even get to Simon, Paula, and Randy.
And please, could someone have told boobs mghee that a bra would have been wonderful for her. LMAO
Her mom could have used a bra too.

I agree, "swinging free" is not a good look at that age and size. It was hard to tell which was the daughter and which was the mom, I think they shared the same tube of red lipstick too. And what was up with the girl with the red arms? I think tonight was all the geeks and freeks. Some people will do anything for their 1 minute of fame!
You have to figure with all the weirdos that make it thru, it is all for "good TV", for lack of a better term! You must admit, it WAS funny! But yes, I agree it's a good thing you didn't make it thru!!! Can you imagine watching yourself as one of the "rejects" after the fact? Awww...I feel so bad for them!
I kind of can relate too. In 1995 I was on a TV talent show that used to be on the TNN channel called "Be A Star" (the country version of "Star Search" at the time) I'd watch week after week, thinking "Hey, I KNOW I'm better than most of the people that get on that show" and decided to audition. Sent a video tape, made it thru the first round. Went down for the in-person audition, made it thru that round, (the guy judging looked EXACTLY like "Boss Hogg" on "The Dukes of Hazzard", about 5' tall with the white belt and pattened leather shoes!) but I actually got on the show and competed! (They didn't put on the weirdos (at least on purpose!
) just for good TV in those days.) I was a frustrated musician singing in a band at the time, writing songs, and not being taken seriously, so I decided to enter on my own. It was an experience I will never forget, but I did not win, needless to say! But wow, the makeup they put on me....my lips actually took on a life of their own! I guess they didn't think I had any to speak of, so they drew them on! On tv I guess it looked okay, but my husband kept looking at them as we talked...couldn't keep his eyes off of them!
Move over, Angelina Jolie! Too funny! From that day on I was known as "The Lip-Queen of Nashville!" It was fun...I still have the tape and we watch from time to time just for a good laugh! Most important thing for a show like that??? SONG CHOICE! I should have picked something else. (Yeah, I'm still in denial....I was ROBBED!...just kidding!!!
)
Okay, obviously I'm up WAY too early in the morning, and just took my Tylenol 3 for the pain, and am a little loopy!
Hope I'm spelling right!
Have a great day all!
Hugs, Theresa

American Idol may be fixed, and may be silly in exactly how you say, but it wins FOX ratings to number 1 almost every finale season so that's all they really care about.
As for the winners? Couple of them won GRAMMY's.....
I honestly think the show is about the judges until the final rounds, and NOT the singers. They focus more on what the judges have to say, Simon and his demeamor towards the contestants even if they sound slightly off key, you're out.
I've know some famous people in my life who are/were on the charts, and Theresa I bet you know too, the music/recording industry is full of hard knocks, bruises, and battering that we as fans don't know about.
It aint easy being a musician/singer/artist in today's society. Only because I've interviewed several (about 13 total famous artists) do I get how difficult and brazen the music industry can be. You can be a ONE HIT WONDER and then ITS ALL OVER just like that.
I saw one guy sing last night from Venezuala, and he was actually decent and holding vibrato at the end, the others were all crap.
I could never audition for Americal Idol, but it is a chance to have 4 -5 minutes of FAME. If you dare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sure was an experience, I will say that much, lol. Something I'm glad I did.
Unfortunately I know all too well the ins and outs of the music industry. I have a family member who is a recording artist. I think that if I lived in a different area, I may work harder to become a recording artist myself. I mean, I have recorded a demo, but I think it was for fun more than anything else. There are not many breaks for a girl living in Traverse City, MI.
For now, I'm content with just being a local singer in town. I like the little piano bar I sing at. Hopefully soon my husband and I will have kids. I like that I know my neighbors and that I live in walking distance to the market. I don't want to give that up just yet. But maybe, just maybe I will give it a real go one of these days. I would be lying if I said that I wouldn't love being a famous singer.
You can all listen and judge for yourselves as to my vocal abilities on my myspace page.

"American Idol" is back and bigger than ever. The Fox TV talent contest's season premiere was the mos****ched in its six-year history, drawing an estimated 37.3 million viewers Tuesday, according to preliminary ratings from Nielsen Media Research.
That represents a 5 percent increase over last year's record premiere audience of 35.5 million, qualifying it as the best debut ever for Fox, the network said. Final ratings will be released next week.
"`American Idol' continues to make entertainment history," Simon Fuller, the series' creator and executive producer, said in a statement Wednesday. "These amazing numbers from our season-six premiere defy all reasonable expectations."
The top-rated show, which also airs Wednesday, is breaking television's laws of gravity that bring declining viewership for aging shows.
It's gotten a boost from its high-profile alumni, including hot recording stars Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood and "Dreamgirls" star and Golden Globe winner Jennifer Hudson.
"American Idol," which gives viewers the chance to pick the finalists and winner, began as usual with scenes from nationwide auditions. The early rounds feature both promising singers and those who serve as targets for acerbic judge Simon Cowell before they're booted out.
