Cori Center OUT OF BUSINESS

I just got off the phone with The Cori Center, not sure you I talked to. She told me that Cori Center went out of business and Dr. Taylor and Wood are opening up their own office but Yes the Cori Center is no longer.

gee, that's a big surprise. since moving to michigan i've heard one horror story after another about how that place ran it's business. i always hear great things about the surgeons themselves but just awful nasty stories about how the business end was run and how the patients were treated by the office staff. I guess the free marketplace works!

Careful. They'll call your surgeon and tell on you. Time for a Manly Men of WLS meeting. kp

Well I wish someone in that office would get their crap straight and tell us the truth. I get a phone call from someone in the office telling me they are not closing and that I would be getting something in the mail with the new address but NOTHING yet!!!! I want to get my records transered to someone. I have an appointment with a surgeon because of a possible hernia and if he needs any info about my surgery and all, I would like him to be able to get it from someone!!!! Thanks for the infio!

CORI is not technically out of business. Dr Wood and DR Taylor "divorced" the parent company MSO Medical. MSO wanted to sell CORI to Bariatric Treatment Centers and DR Wood didn't want any part of it. MSO and DR wood and Taylor have been in court for months fighting with MSO and the "marriage" will disolve as of Feb 1st. Dr Wood and Taylor have opened their own private practice (I can't for the life of me remember what the name is going to be ) and it is going to be called ABMI - American Bariatric Medical Institute ??? or something! They moved less than a mile away from the office they had and like I said the whole change takes effect Feb 1st. All appointments and surgeries are happening as scheduled at the NEW office. I'm just wondering who people like Tami need to contact to get their medical records...is the parent company going to hold on to them, or will Dr. Taylor & Dr. Wood take the records of only their patients with them? I guess the good Drs. will know the answer to that, eh? Lizzie B

I heard the medical records are being held in a secret underground bunker on a island off the coast of South America. I went to the new office, they are definately still moving in. Dr. Wood and Dr. Taylor's name was on the door with magic marker. And it's all the same office staff. And they had all my medical records there when I went in for my appt.
