Cat scan update
Well it was normal. Surprise surprise. The last three times I have had to have surgery it's been normal. So I have to drive down to Bloomfield Hills to meet with my surgeon on Friday and we will go from there.
On another note, when you tell the doctor that you are allergic to iodine and they give it to you anyway....well.....not smart. I posted below that I took some prednisone starting last night to prep for the iodine. Needless to say it didn't work and I proceeded to have an allergic reaction immediately on the table. The nurse said that she has never seen that happen, that patients who are allergic don't react when given prednisone. Well I did.
If I don't post by Monday it's because I am still in Detroit and probably in the hospital, AGAIN!

Julie,
My thoughts are with you as you find out what's going on. I'm sending you a private message and if you need anyone to communicate for you here what's happening, please call me or have your husband call me.
I'd be more than happy to let folks know how you are.
Hugs and Thoughts with you!

Hiya Julie,
I hope you can finally get some resolve to this! it sounds crazy.
As for them giving you medicines that you are allergic to- doesn't that violate the law? I have a severe reaction to morphine and have taken to screaming ppl down who try to give it to me.
Stay strong and remember you are in control and don't have to let them try anything you don't feel comfortable with!
Blessings!
Jennifer
Long shot,,,
I heard of this with a person on the west coast and I don't remember who but it was a man who had pain and it was unexplainable. It was near a side,- I don't remember which- and they couldn't find anything wrong in scans and tests.
He did a food diary to the T. Times, amounts, chews etc.....
It came about after certain types of food with a specific consistency. It was making it's way through and hit what was described as a tight corner in the intestine and would make the intestine flatten out a little and push against the inside and cause the pain. It would linger a bit and then go away. Sometimes it was excruciating and sometimes just mild.
I wish I could remember the details but it was a while ago. The remedy was to redo the bypass part a little to give an easier bend or to limit the food that was the problem and smaller bites.
Is that anything like what you are experiencing?

I can relate with having all kinds of test and they show nothing. I hope that your surgeon will get to the bottom of the problem. I can relate to Kevin post that was the problem with my surgery it was my intestines they were blocked and food would not pass throught really well and so of it would flush back up into my pouch so my surgeon has to relengthen my bypassed area and that fixed the problem, I know we live close to each other and if you need to talk or vent I am hear for you. Wishing you safe travel back to Detroit. Hugs Tricia

When I could no longer take the pain, stopped being able to eat, and stopped being able to hold down even water, I ended up in the hospital, CT scan NORMAL!!! it wasn't until they did an exploratory that they found out I had major big time adhesions! Snip snip of those babies and my pain level dropped overnight.
Might be time for your doc to take another look see.
