Are there foods that you miss?
Suzanne,
OMG !!!!!!! I thought I was the only birthday cake w/ frosting freak out there. I used to love left over B-day cake. I have not even had a taste for anything like that since my surgery( 6/14/06). Glad to know I am not alone. I get the cereal thing too, I am not lactose intolerant but my pouch is going through a little phase that it does not like cereal w/ milk. I do like that too!!!!!

I miss fried fish, from the lake, cooked in hot oil over an open fire on the beach.
I miss my dad's cooking it when we were in Canada.
I miss my Dad making grilled fish on the grill outside their home up north. (he passed 2/15/06)
I miss eating coconut creme pie. no i dont. i still do. i just make it myself and make it sugar free!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't miss all the fat I use to have on my body.
I don't miss all the sagging skin that use to hang down to my knees.
I don't miss the dirty looks from people when I was morbidly obese.
I don't miss having diabetes 2, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, chronic
asthma (since surgery it has vanished), knee problems, sore joints and NO ENERGY.
So in all, nope. I only miss my dad's cooking. on the beach, shore, over an open fire. Those days will always be treasured in my heart.

I go through phases, but it isn't a particular food usually. Sometimes I miss the feeling that food gave me. The McDonalds stuff your face comfort parties I used to have. I am so glad McDonald's gives me the chuck's now LOL!
I sometimes miss the comfort of food, maybe that is it with you. I think most of us miss the feelings food gave us at times. Unless you are all mentally stable like KP!! LOL!
I on the other hand will always fight the addiction to food. Thank God for this surgery because although it is not perfect, it is the best weapon I have had in 38 years against the obesity demon.
