I am an emotional wreck these days. I cry at the drop of a hat; I think my sugar, hormones, and emotions are all screwed up. This pre-op liquid diet has gotten my nickers in knots. I think 2 weeks of this before surgery is a bit extreme! I guess it will all be worth it. Yes I am losing weight; but why is it getting so difficult for me to keep my emotions in check. It is only a little while longer; I will make it one hour and a time. Something has gotta give. I don't believe that it will be this difficult after surgery because the big hunger; and blood sugar factors won't be the big issues in the picture! Truckin on, Judy R

Judy, I am sorry to hear about your upset and shorts -- I understand the emotional wrecks. How I do understand. Matter of fact, I'm 18 months post op and 3 months post op from TT and still wonder what my next day holds. But what it all comes down to is TAKING ONE STEP AT A TIME. 1. Focus on something else besides the liquid diet. Listen to music, or watch a movie, do SOMETHING FOR YOU. 2. Stop letting the liquid diet get you into a knickers. Yea, it's got to be hard as heck. But you can do this. Think of where you will be in 6 months. One Year. Visualize these things. 3. Remember THAT YOU ARE NOT ALONE IN YOUR QUEST. We are here to help and support you and be a backbone to you. 4. after surgery the first month or two is the hardest, learning how to chew, how to re train your brain to live and do post op eating is hard. take it slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww and bite by bite, sip sip sip and walk walk walk. Follow your WLS surgeon instructions to the letter, and follow what your NUT tells you to do. Each surgeon offers different post op guidelines and it is critical you follow yours. 5. Vent often Keep a journal. Write things down. Start now, and keep a scrapbook of how you feel and what you go through. I have mine, and look back and almost fall over backwards when I see what I use to look like compared to now. AND FINALLY----YOU ARE WORTH IT. DARN WORTH IT!!!!!!!!!!! HUGS Judy Stacey W

Major hormonal changes come with weight loss, it will be hard to deal with for awhile and as I replied to the other post, food is our comfort place. We have to learn to get comfort somewhere else now and that is hard. Maybe counseling? I did this for awhile and it helped some, but can't find anyone now with my insurance who deals with food disorder. Good luck Judy, but hold on, it is sooooooo worth it. Wendy

I think you are dealing with the anticpation of this big change in your life....this is a big thing. Try to hang in there, and know that it will all be worth it. YOur body is going through some bigs changes being on the liquid diet, and your mind is preparing for the best journey of your life. Take care, hon. Keep us posted. Tracey
