looking for an angel

HI everyone, My surgery is coming up on feb 5th and i start my pre op diet of protein powers in the form of puddings soup and 2 drinks. Im looking for an angel to help keep me sane in these last few days and well just to be able to say hi to and have a contact for the boards here. Any volunteers?? Maria

Hi Maria; I am having surgery on Feb 05 too!!!! Good luck girl. Yes I too am on the pre op diet yuk.. I have been on it a week now; and have one week to go. How long are you on it? I think the first 3-5 days were the hardest. I found my temper being shorter, running out of energy earlier in the day; and hard to cope with people anoying me.. I am having my surgery at Hurley med center in flint; how about you? Maybe we will be bumping into one another. Anyway wishing you the best. Hang in there. Sincerely, Judy R,

I am having my surgery at hurley too gotta be there at 730am. I am on the 8 day boxed kit that hurley makes you get with all that protein pudding/shakes, soup, and drinks. My temper isnt bad its just getting hard to watch hubby and the kids eating and I want to have what they are..lol I want a pickle darn it. Sigh sadly I make myself sit here and stay away from the fridge. Oh well day 1 down 7 to go. Maria

Hi Maria, I would be happy to be your Angel , support you, and relay any messages to the Board! The pre-op diet can be hard, but not insurmountable! I know you can do it! Keep thinking about the day when overeating will no longer be an issue and it won't be long now! Judy posted also, and it looks like you both will be at Hurley the same day! How cool! Be sure to get info from each other and you can walk the halls together and lean on each other! I met the greatest gal, who is now one of my very best friends, in the bariatric unit...we are "same day surgery sisters" and will forever have that bond and I feel we will be friends for life! In fact, the very best friends in my life right now stem from going thru this journey! So you are in for a life change in many ways, but a good one! If you still need an angel, I'm here.
