Why??

Why ARE we so cold anyway??? Preop and most of my life, I've always been waaaaaaaaaay too warm. I would freeze my husband out in the winter because I HAD to have the window partially open or I'd get too hot. The house would be comfy at a high of 67 degrees. My oldest son would complain how freezing he was if the thermostat was less than 74, and would beg for the heat to be turned up. But NOW...holy cow!! My thermostat is set just about to 80, I put on long sleeve shirts and sweaters, socks, AND a blanket, and I'm STILL FREEZING and my oldest says he's dying of heat exhaustion. (He's a bit dramatic :P ) Begs for me to turn the heat down. I took my temp the other day because I thought I had a fever...it was 95.6 degrees! I said to my husband, "I told you I'm freezing to death...it's only going to be a matter of time now. Hypothermia is about to set in!" So what gives?? Did they remove our body heat regulator while they were in there?? Signed, Wishing I was the old lady Hansel and Gretel stuffed into the oven!

When you burn fat you release heat. In effect, you are a heat exchanger. It's not because you are losing insulation. You are not a whale. We feel heat and cold at our skin. We can let our core temp drop through hypo-thermia but you will feel it well before that. You are just giving off heat. That's all. Turn the temp up. Put on some socks and drink some tea. Make a fire and tell the people in your house to wait on you. kp

GIRL YOU AREN'T ALONE THAT IS FREEZING OUT THERE!!!! I HAD ON MY NIGHTIE AND WINTER ROBE, SOCKS AND SLIPPERS, THEN I HAD THE BLANKET AND AFGHAN WRAPPED AROUND ME LAST NIGHT AND I WAS FINALLY STARTING TO THAW OUT....TODAY I AM WEARING MY HEAVY SWEATER, WOOL SOCKS, SNEAKERS AND JEANS...THE HEAT IS TURNED UP TO 72 AND I AM STILL FREEZING!!! I JUST CAN'T SEEM TO GET WARM AT ALL ANY MORE!!! CAN'T WAIT TIL SUMMER AND SEE HOW WE HANDLE THE HEAT!!! HANG IN THERE AND TRY TO KEEP WARM!!! HUGS JUDY

I thought that the "coldness" would stabalize when I stopped losing weight - WRONG!! I've been wearing long undies since September, two pair of s****s, turtle necks and sweaters and I'm still FREEZING!!!! I try to be the "good mom" and turn the heat down when it's just me here during the day, but I get sooooo darn cold my fingernails turn dark purple!!!! I sooooooo can't wait for warm weather!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Laurie

Hot tub at 104 degrees and I bought a heating blanket at Walmart. I sit under that all the time watch tv and stuff! They are on clearance right now. Go get it while it's on sale and welcome to the world of the arctic chill! Wendy
