Keeping track of intake

Does anyone know of a program or someplace to print off menu type things to keep track of intake. I am in the pre operative liquid diet. And I know they want to see if you are doing it right. I tried Fit Day but on there you can't enter protein shakes and and stuff. I think it will help me to see how I am doing, on paper. And keep track of my protein.

My NUT always tells us to keep handwritten journals. I dont know if you want to do this or not. But just a suggestion. Suzanne

you can actually customize foods on fit day. you enter the name of what you're using and the nutrition information from the label. that's what i use to keep track of my protein shakes and what not. i'll select the powder, then the milk, and whatever else i put in it, and then it shows all that i have had for the day.

I use Fitday. I actually got the download program because you can customize the meal even more than online plus I can take it with me on the laptop when I go traveling and don't have internet access. I put everything down because it keeps me from grazing and cheating when I see it all in front of me.

Thank you all.....I didn't know you could customize!! This will make it so much easier. and then I can just print off daily menus to take with me. Today was my first day of liquids. I thought I was allowed full liquids including pudding, tomato soup. But I reread the book/instructions and said ONLY protein shakes and clear liquids. I am gonna call tomorrow and make sure. Especially about if I am supposed to be on clear liquids, the protein shakes aren't clear. I am te*****ally not supposed to start this diet until tuesday.....but I just felt the need to start now!!! I know I know....I am nuts.

Hey Debbie, It's me again. You are not nuts! I did the same thing LOL. Things may have changed but when I had my surgery we were supposed to mix the protein with water or use clear protein like isopure. There is a point where you stop taking the protein pre-op. It would be best to call Annette, she can give you the correct instructions. Best wishes. God bless you, Annette

Hi Debbie, When you go to fitday.com there is a place where you can put in your own custom foods. I put all of the foods I eat on fitday. Just click on new custom foods, and fill in the information from your protein drinks and anything else you want on your list of foods. If you need more help with it, let me know. God bless you, Annette

Something else I just learned about FitDay that is SOOOO cool... It's a sister site to www.dietfacts.com. Diet Facts has a very large database of restaurent foods and brand name foods. And you can add these things directly to your FitDay log. Here's how: 1. Log into your FitDay account and leave it open in your browser window 2. In a new browser window open Diet Facts 3. Find the food you want to input in the Diet Facts database 4. At the bottom of the nutrition facts for that food there's a button that says "Add to my FitDay Log" 5. Click that button will dump that food into your log automatically and create a Custom Food that you can use again anytime on FitDay. The first time I used it for Dannon Light and Fit yogurt I was dancing in my office chair for joy! Love this feature! Pam
