Looking to have DS in MI

Hiya everyone! My name is Randy and i'm from Toronto, Canada. I'm looking into having a DS in MI and was wondering if any of you have had surgery with Dr. M. Lutrzykowski? I am still in the process of insurance aproval but was just wondering if any of you have met or worked with him? Thanks

Hi Randy, Before you make your final decision would you please also consider Dr. Hares? If nothing else have a consult with him. I know both docs and given my choice I would have taken Dr Hares. Unfortunately for me after being scheduled with Dr H I was denied ANY DS so I went to Brazil but Dr H is my follow up surgeon. Either way good luck on your journey. Welcome Randy. While I cant really comment on Dr. L since I have never met him, I do know that many do rave about his wonderful abilities. Please come over to the Duodenal Switch forum here on OH. There are many Canadians that have come over to MI for the DS and are so happy they have. You will probably find more people on there to answer your questions than just by asking in the Michigan forum. Wishing you all the best on your journey to the healthy side.

Hi randy I had surgery (DS) with Dr. L in june of 2003. He is a great surgeon and his office staff are wonderful also. I still see him every year for check ups, going to see him soon actually. I would do it again in a minute. I started at 244lbs and currently weigh 125lbs. If you have more questions just ask away. michelle
