leaking band-help

I had surgery Dec. 2005, lost great until March, 2006 then went for a fill, could feel restriction right away but about two weeks later I could eat quite a bit more and was always hungry. Struggled with that for awhile thinking I just needed more fill but in April I started a new job and put that on the back of my list for awhile since it takes a whole day off to go to my Doctor 5 hours away, one way. Long story short I went in July for more fill and the nurse practiciner only put 1cc and said if I had no trouble with that to come back in 4 week and get more. Went back in August (still not having any restriction) and she pulled out what she had put in and it was not there. We did that three more times two being under flora scope before he was convinced it was leaking because they could not see the leak. Dr. Marvin finally was convinced it had to be a slow leak. We are now in the process of getting my insurance to ok the replacement surgery. My questions are: Has anyone else had leaking problems and how common is this? I am also wondering if there is much sucess out there with bands or should I go with the other surgery? I have run across two other people in my home town that has had the band and not loosing much weight. I'm worried about having another surgery and still not loosing. Please let me have feed back on this. I am very confused on what to do.

I had both...so you did post in the right place.... wish I would had the RNY and never had the banding done...we live and learn...they are both very different but with the band I had lot's more problems....email me if you would like to know anymore and good luck!!!!!!! Maria
