Surgery Tomorrow A.M.
Hi Everyone,
Tomorrow at 8:30 am is my new beginning and surgery! Have to be at the hospital by 6 am; rise and shine. Yesterday I had a beginning meltdown in Walmart; I guess we'd call it a case of nerves. It was sudden; and then subsided. Don't really know what that was all about, but I imagine reality woke me up. Today only light liquids all day. Family going to superbowl party without me! Good they can all eat there and then I won't have to see or smell it! LOL! They say superbowl is only second to Thanksgiving in eating ourselves to death. They can have all the calories. LOL Since being diaginosised diabetic in Dec.; I quit junkfood and coke cold turkey. And since Dec and my 2 week post-op liquid diet I have lost 27 lbs as of this mornning! Wooo Hooo! I have already gotten this party started! Have lap RNY; does anyone know how long hospital stay will be? I want to come home as soon as possible. I will update as soon as I can after getting home. Thanks for all you support and prayers. Good luck to all my fellow friends who are having their surgery this week as well. Bless you all,Sincerely Judy R
I had my surgery on 8 Jan 07 and was in hospital for 2 days it was ruff but I have so far l drop almost 4o pounds. The first few days was not easy when I got home put with the help of my girl friend and others I feel good. I am now being to eat feel food but slowy. I know you will be strong and my prayers are with you for the big day. Just think you will belong to group of great supporters and always think of your goal. I will keep you in my prayers.
Good Morning Judy,
Hope you have a speedy recovery and a reward to be on the LOSSER side!!!
I had my surgery on Nov 29 o6 and was in the hospital for 2 days---
the first week or so I was soor but you recover very fast---just keep moving i think that the answer, walk around your house (as living in michigan you can't go outside) if you have someone to drive you go out to the mall or store and walk around it kills time and you have thing to look at ---by the 3rd week i started to go to the gym and walk on the tread mill thats all i did just walk started at 10 min and now i walk there 3 times a week for 45 min also i have included some other exerise now but the walking even now 2 mts out makes me feel good!!!!
anyway GODS BLESSING FOR A SPEEDY RECOVERY and just take one day at a time for now!!!
marie (feel free to e-mail me anytime with any questions i might be able to)

Judy,
Enjoy the ride! You are embarking on a journey that will change your life forever. In the beginning, you might wonder what the heck you did to yourself. As the pounds melt away, you will soon realize the sacrifice is well worth trading in junk food for a more healthy lifestyle. Just rememeber that the liquid and pureed stage is not forever. It may seem like it in the beginning, but the time will fly. You will soon taste the absolute bliss of cottage cheese or re-fried beans. All the while, the pounds just melt away. You will have everyone you know start to make comments that will make your self-esteem soar and warm your heart. You will start fitting into clothes you abandoned long ago. By Labor Day, you will look in the bathroom mirror and ask "Who the hell is that staring back at me"? Are you ready for the challenge? See you on "the other side".

I wish you the best of luck. Tomorrow will be my one week anniversary post-op. I was in the hospital until Wednesday. Since it looks like you're probably going to Hurley too, I imagine it will be the same for you. Congrats on losing 27 pounds already. That will make it a smoother experience. If I can offer you any advice, be sure to take your own pillow and maybe some headphones or earplugs (you might end up with a roommate that snores like I did).
