How many calories should I be eating? My protein drink alone is 250 without the milk. (NO sugar) Today I have written everything down and my numbers are 950 calories and 89 protein. Is this too much food? I have been at a stall for about 2 months now and figured I'd better try to write everything down. I haven't grazed today so maybe this will help with my stall. Any suggestions??? Thanks for your help!!!!!

Honestly, i never counted calories....but i think it's supposed to be like 1000, i'm not sure though. when do you drink protein? For the best results, mine says to drink it as soon as you wake up, after working out, and before bed. I do the morning and bedtime. how much water are you drinking? Here is what i do every day: Protein when i wake up, then breakfast about an hour later. I eat 5 to 6 times a day, but small amounts to get my metabolism up. Lots of water, i drink tropicana sugar free lemonade, probably 80 or more ounces a day. When i eat it's protein first, then fruits or veggies, then carbs or fat....but usually after the veggies i'm about full so i don't eat much of the carbs or fat. Then i drink my protein right before i go to bed. Hugs Linda

Thanks Linda, I'll take any suggestions!!! How much protein are you getting a day? I never thought of taking a shake before bed. I think this would help my late night cravings!!! Thanks for your help

I stalled at five months too. I was almost seven months when I finally asked the question to my surgeon/ nutritionist. I had joined the health club and was working out four days a week. I was taking two protien shakes per day and three small meals of protein only. I just couldn't understand why the weightloss stopped. I was shocked at what I was told... I was instructed to stop taking protien shakes. Get my protien from food only, or use a protien shake as a meal replacement only. 3 meals a day/ 1 cup of food at a time. This is too hard for me, so I break it up into 5 or 6 meals at a 1/2 cup a time. It has been helpful. I still occasionally take shakes. Keep it healthy. You may be able to tolerate your favorite foods from before, but are they healthy? My hardest issue, is trying to keep on track with eating smart. Falling into old eating habits is the hardest issue I have had on this journey. I don't have trouble eating sweets, or fat! Since September (my 5th month) I have shed another 25 pounds. It is slow and frustrating! But this has to be expected. Remember, a Plateau is when you have maintained weight and not lost any inched for over 6 weeks. I have lost more inches since September, than I did from the surgery to five months out. I am now down a total of 110lbs...From a size 30w to a 18w in jeans!!!! WOW!!! Get advise from your surgeon or nutritionist...keep it healthy...and keep exercising! The scale will move again! But you are at the point where you have to use the tool correctly! Five or six months is where people have a tendancy to loose sight of why we had this surgery, because they have hit the plateau...just like before surgery! Patience and Persistance, it the advise I have for you!

Thanks Joyann!!! It really helps when people post their own experiences--it helps give options to think about. I like the eating 1/2 cup 5 or 6 times a day verses the 3 a day. I tend to graze at certain times of the day. Working out has to be a priority for me too. I don't alway fit it in with my day. Thanks again for giving me your advise and you keep up the good work too. It sounds like have mastered this!!! Thanks again!!
