I'am only 5 &1/2 months out and i seem to be hungry all the time. i don't know why, i can't eat any meat yet but i do get in my protein drinks and have protein for my snacks and don't go over a 1,000 calories a day i usually get between 800 and 1,000 calories a day and drink at least 8 16 ounces of water a day. i also hit a plateau and haven't lost any weight for over 2 weeks. has anyone else run into the problem of being hungry all the time. also is there a limit of how much water to drink i sometimes drink way over 100 ounces a day? thanks for your replys barb

Why can't you eat meat? Is it a restriction or your tummy don't like it? Have you tried cooking it different ways or slow cooking it and having it tender and juicy? My nut says at least 64 ounces of water a day, but i know i drink over 100. What foods are you eating and how often? Give me a general days menu. Hugs Linda

linda, i am eating cottage cheese or yougert and doing my protein drinks. i have tried meats cooked all different ways and yes very moist and tender. when i eat the meat i get really bad indigestion in my chest the only meat i can get a little in is ground beef and just a bite or two. i don't want to be eating that little or getting that bad of gas it hurts really bad even if i take something for it ahead of time. i am willing to try any suggestions. thanks barb

It sounds to me like you aren't chewing your food small enough and it's getting stuck. You have to chew very very well or this happens. Another thing, eat slower and the gas won't be as bad. The hard thing is, you have to take like 20-30 minutes to eat your meal when you're this new post op. Ground meat was always the easiest for me at your stage. Make some taco meat and eat it with cheese and salsa, no tortilla. Or make some spaghetti sauce and melt mozzarella on top and eat that. Grill a chicken breast, top with spaghetti sauce and melt cheese on that. Use some cream of chicken soup with chicken breast cooked in it. chili is good . Eating just cottage and yogurt must have you really constipated. Do you take flax seed supplements? How are you not tired of the same thing? hugs Linda

hi Barbara, Have you tried eating packaged meats like healthy choice ham or turkey? They come sliced nice and thin and it seems to digest easier. My favorite thing to do is take a piece of turkey or ham and put just a thin layer of light cream chz on it and roll it. Good protein and not many calories!!! The other thing I do is when I don't eat what I prepare for my family is get deli turkey sliced a little bit thicker than shaved and put 2 kinds of cheeses and nuke it for 30 seconds and instant yum!!! Hope this helps!!
