B-12 question

Went in to see my PCP today. In regards to the Boniva, my labs were good, but my B-12 was high. I did a little online research and they indicate that if you take multi's that may be why your levels are high, but that there is not danger. Anyone ever have high B-12 and do I need to be concerned - anything I need to do? Thanks Stacey W

No wonder you have so much energy. What brand multi's are you taking? You're not having a hard time sleeping? I don't think you have anything to worry about. From what i understand b12 is water soluble and what we don't use we get rid of. Hugs Linda

Optisource Multis from Walgreens designed for Bariatric patients. There is 125 mcg per tablet, and I take 4 a day required by my WLS. The total percentage is like 2083 percent per daily recommended dose according the bottle. No, no problems sleeping I just have energy out the wazoo. Love to go to Meijer for an hour and push a cart around just to walk off the energy. That's one thing I did NOT have before wls. ENERGY. Ugh I was so lazy. Thanks! Stacey W

are they expensive? I take the vitamin shoppe mega vites 75. they have 75 mcg per tablet and 1250% of our daily recommended dose. I take one a day and my labs have been great. I guess it depends on the individual though. Mine are 13 bucks for a two month supply and i have a hard time sleeping because of the energy. Whatever the reason, if it works for you, stick with it. At Walgreens now they are 26.99 but they use to be 24.99. I had my WLS Surgeon write out a prescription for them because if I have to take them for the rest of my life, this could be reimbursible on my flexible spending account and with the script, it is. I think it's high but they work. So far my labs have been good. Stacey W

So Stacey if Dr. P writes a script for these can we use them for deduction like others scripts we take? All deducutions help and never thought of this one. So how are you doing other wise? I have been fighting a cold the last week and think it is finally on the other slop now. Thank goodness. Take care my angel and stay warm. Hugs Debbie M

Hi Deb, We have AFLAC unreimbursed medical thru my work and we can use scripts as well as anything we buy at the store, like contact solution, etc....things we use all the time, and that should mean our vits too! I never thought of it til now though! Hope you're doing well! Talk soon, Theresa

Oops! One more thing....We are not required to have a script to get reimbursed. Just the receipt. T

Yes, get him to write you a script, or get Kelly to. Then it can be used as a deduction. Because we "Have" to have this. I'm good, are you coming down on the 24th?????????????? Hope so!!!! Stay warm MY angel!!!
