Hi Gang, I will be at HFH on Feb 20th to meet Dr Carlin and am looking for suggestions for a hotel not too far from the hospital. They have a residence but I'll only book that for my post-surgery time. I will have a car so can commute a bit- I'm just looking for a "safe" area to stay in. Any suggestions (or warnings!) would be greatly appreciated. Deborah

Hi Deborah How far into ontario are you? Why not stay in Windsor? That isn't too far from henry ford. There are a few hotels in downtown detroit, but what price range are you looking for? How far are you willing to go for the commute to henry ford? I honestly wouldn't stay in detroit, but would stay in southfield or a suburb. Be careful when you book and come to the states, a lot of construction , especially on the lodge freeway (which i believe is closed but could be wrong). Let me know if you need help. Hugs Linda

Deborah - Linda is right the Lodge is definitely closed. Outside of Detroit, staying in Windsor (some place right near the tunell) is actually the closest as opposed the the 'burbs of Detroit. So my vote for both safety & closeness is there. However if you have $'s to burn you could stay at the Ren Cen. in downtown Detroit. The Ren Cen is a cool place, safe and in a very neat area BUT very pricy..

Hi Deborah, Henry Ford has their own apartments at reasonable rates. Call Wanda she can give you all the info. I know a couple of people that have stayed there and they liked them. Hope this helps. God bless, Annette

Thanks Ladies! I appreciate the advice and think I'll stay on the Windsor side for this trip. I will likely use the HFH apartments after surgery. You guys are great!
