Oh what I did at IKIA today- KP I outshined you!

Well friends it was one of those days.. Not a lot of quick protien in the house and I wanted to get out and shop sooo I made myself some egg salad (1 whole & 2 whites) and that was breakfast. Throw in a cold glass of milk and the old tummy started a churning. By the time I arrived for my very 1st IKIA experience I was in full blown gas mode so I tried as best I could to be discreet by walking over to an area not too populated with other shoppers before I let one rip.. HOWEVER while in the check out line (after 4 hours of being totally overwhelmed by that place) I had no place to go, so one slipped. Here's the funny part.. This lady standing in line said to me "What is that smell? Do you smell it?" I turned and looked at her totally mortified and said "YES! I wonder what it is? Sure does smell awful." Then I jsut stared at her. I said after a few seconds "Do you think it could me some of the merchandise you picked up?" At that point she picked up this UGLY orange rug and sniffed it. I really had to keep a straight face as I thought I'd burst out laughing any minute but I didn't (was actually embarassed but she didn't know that) She then said quietly "It smells like a fart" I said "I realy don't know but it sure isn't a plesant smell" Then she said "Well it is right around here" And she made an arc around herself. HONEST!! As our line moved I turned back to see her sit that UGLY orange rug off to the side. SHE BOUGHT MY STORY!! She thought it was her rug. LOL LOL LOL Have to say I chuckled all the way home.

That is pretty funny!!! What a great story... I can't believe she bought it and put the rug back... some people are so guilable (sp?).... LOL.... Shawn M.

My worst fear: What if someone here knows her? LOL Yep it sure was funny. Besides like I said the rug was UGGGGG LEEEEEE so I saved her.

Patt, You should have used the old...."Whoever smelt it.....dealt it!" My kids love that. I hope you had fun at Ikea, it's my favorite place to get lost. I'll have to keep an eye out for those sulphuric smelling orange rugs

Yep Brenda keep away from those rugs. Probably hasd last year's pumpkins sitting on them or something Have to say the store is awesome but also overwhelming. Think the next time I go I will skip some areas and focus on others.

The only thing is that KP is so PROUD of his "odor fufu" that he would have proudly told her it was him and "one of his best"!!!!!

OMG PATT I AM SITTING HERE WITH TEARS ROLLING DOWN MY FACE FROM LAUGHING SO HARD!!!!!! THAT HAD TO BE SO DAM FUNNY!!!!! TO BAD KP WASN'T THERE WITH YOU SO HE COULD ENJOY THE SMELL.... I AM SURE HE WOULD TAKE THE CREDIT FOR IT!!!!

OMG!!! I'd dying here laughing!! I had to read your post to my hubby, just so he knows it's not MY fault those noxious odors come out of me...we just can't help it! But the orange rug thing???....that was funny!!!! Oh yes, KP would have stood proudly and claimed ownership of it!! NOT ME! Where are you KP????....You're missing this! Theresa

what an awesome story. I am dyin' cryin' . Lol that was outstanding. The silent deadly ones are the best. Did we forget it isn't Halloween til October. An orange rug? ugh. Yup we def. need KP's input. I am so proud of you!. I have had some incredible moments at the most inoppurtune(sp) times also. But this is a classic. Have a great weekend.
